A real person reads support@ctrlflick.com. The answers below cover most of what gets asked.
Lost your licence key? Sign in to your account with the email you bought it with — the key is on the page, along with which machine is currently using it.
Does it need an internet connection?
Yes. CtrlFlick Recon checks your licence with us while you are using it, and it will not run without a working connection. This is also what makes moving between your own machines automatic, with nothing to deactivate.
What that means in practice:
- A brief blip is invisible. A connection that drops and comes straight back will not interrupt you.
- On hotel or airport wifi, where you have to pass a login page first, it says so plainly rather than showing a network error.
- A real outage stops it, and it picks up where it was once the connection returns.
- It is not a heavy connection. Small requests; it works fine over a phone hotspot.
If you need something that runs with no connection at all, this is not the right tool and we would rather you knew before buying than after.
Can I use it on more than one PC?
You can install it on as many as you like, and run it on one at a time. Starting it on a second machine takes the seat and the first stops shortly after. Nothing to deactivate, no limit on how often you switch, no ticket to raise.
To run it on two machines at once, buy two licences.
How do I move to a new PC?
Install it and enter the same key. That is the whole procedure. The old machine releases its seat by itself. If the old machine is gone entirely, nothing needs doing at all — a seat that stops checking in is released automatically.
What happens when my licence expires?
It stops starting, and your settings file is left alone. We email you before the date rather than after, so renewing is a decision rather than a surprise. Renewing adds time to the licence you already have — the key does not change.
What is WebView2, and do I need it?
It is a Microsoft component that CtrlFlick Recon uses to draw its settings window. An up-to-date Windows 11 has it already. If it is missing you will be told, and it is a free download from Microsoft.
The lens and the crosshair do not use it. A machine without WebView2 still magnifies and still draws a crosshair; only the settings panel is unavailable, and settings can be edited in the file directly.
Will it work with games? Is it allowed?
It works the way any screen overlay works: it reads what is already on your display and draws a click-through window on top of it. It does not read or modify any other program’s memory, and it does not inject code into a game. It does watch for the right mouse button system-wide, which is how the lens opens without a window in the way.
Whether a particular game permits it is that game’s call, not ours. Some anti-cheat systems object to overlays or to system-wide input monitoring regardless of what the program does with them, and rules differ between titles and change over time. If you play something competitive with anti-cheat, check its rules before you rely on this. We cannot make a promise on another publisher’s behalf, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
What does it collect about me?
Your licence key, an identifier derived from your PC’s hardware, and your computer’s name — that is what the licence check sends, and it is what makes “one PC at a time” work. It does not send what is on your screen, what you have open, or what you type. The privacy page lists everything, and what is kept for how long.
How do I uninstall it?
Delete the folder. Everything it writes — settings and the WebView2 profile — lives inside its own directory, so there is nothing in the registry or in AppData to clean up afterwards.
Can I get a refund?
Within 7 days of buying, yes, and you do not have to give a reason. The refund page has the details.
Nothing here answers it
Email support@ctrlflick.com. Include your licence key if it is about a specific machine, and say what version you are on — it is at the top of the settings window.
