Terms

The agreement between you and CTRLFLICK when you buy a licence for CtrlFlick Recon.

1. What you are buying

A licence to use CtrlFlick Recon for the period you paid for. You are not buying the software itself, and ownership of it does not transfer to you. Within that licence you may install it on as many of your own machines as you like.

2. One machine at a time

The licence permits use on one computer at any given moment. Starting CtrlFlick Recon on another machine moves the licence to it and stops the first. Running it on two machines at once requires two licences.

Your licence key is personal to you. Sharing it, publishing it or selling it on is a breach of these terms, and we may withdraw the licence if it happens.

3. It needs to reach our servers

CtrlFlick Recon verifies your licence with us while it runs, and it will not run without that. This is a deliberate part of the design rather than a temporary limitation, and it is described plainly in the FAQ before you buy.

We aim to keep that service available at all times and we do not offer a guaranteed uptime figure. If a failure on our side prevents you using the software for a meaningful period, contact us and we will extend your licence or refund it.

4. Term, renewal and expiry

Your licence runs for the duration shown on the plan you bought. There is no automatic billing: nothing is charged to you again unless you choose to renew. We will email you before your licence expires. Renewing adds time to your existing licence and keeps your key.

When a licence expires the software stops running. Your settings stay on your computer and are untouched.

A lifetime licence means the lifetime of the product. It is not tied to your own lifetime, and it is not a promise of a set number of years. It does not expire on a date, nothing further is ever charged for it, and it lasts for as long as we publish CtrlFlick Recon and run the licence service described in section 3. Our records hold it as a term of one hundred years because a licence has to carry a date; that is bookkeeping, not a promise of a century.

Because the software needs our servers to run, a lifetime licence ends if we stop running them. We will not do that without telling you at least 90 days beforehand, by email to the address on your account. If you bought a lifetime licence in the twelve months before that notice, we will refund it in full.

A lifetime licence cannot be renewed, because there is nothing left to renew, and your account will not offer you the option. It is personal to you on the same terms as any other licence — section 2 applies to it, and it cannot be sold or passed on.

5. What you may not do

We may withdraw a licence for a serious or repeated breach of this section. Where we do, and the breach was not deliberate, we will refund the unused portion.

6. Updates

Updates released while your licence is valid are included, and the software installs them itself. We may change how the software works between versions. Where a change removes something you were relying on, tell us — that is the kind of thing we would rather hear than have you discover.

This applies to a lifetime licence too: updates to CtrlFlick Recon are included for as long as it is licensed to you, with no upgrade fee at any version. If we release a separate product rather than a new version of this one, that is its own purchase, and we will say plainly which it is.

7. Refunds

7 days, no reason required, as set out on the refunds page. That page forms part of these terms.

8. Payment and tax

Prices include any tax that applies where you live. You will receive an invoice by email showing how the total breaks down. Payment is handled by our payment provider; we do not receive or store your card details.

9. Your data

The privacy page sets out what we collect and for how long, and forms part of these terms.

10. No warranty beyond what the law requires

The software is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is free of faults or that it will suit a particular purpose of yours. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer law where you live, and where that law gives you more than this page does, it wins.

CtrlFlick Recon is a screen overlay and an audio tool: it magnifies and draws on top of what is already on your screen, and it reads and reshapes the sound your PC is already playing. It does not read, modify or inject anything into another program. Whether any other program or service permits its use alongside them is that provider’s decision and not something we can undertake on their behalf.

11. Limit of liability

Where liability can lawfully be limited, ours is limited to the total amount you have paid us for the licence. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect losses. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Ending the agreement

You may stop using the software at any time; the refund terms above say when money comes back. We may end the agreement if you breach it materially, and will tell you why.

We may also stop running CtrlFlick Recon altogether, which ends every licence including a lifetime one. Section 4 says what notice you get and what we refund if we do.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for future purchases. The terms that apply to your licence are the ones published when you bought it, and a change is never applied backwards to a licence already sold.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of INDIA, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the law where you live.
